Alia El-Khatib

Alia possesses a background that includes advisory, business development and alternative dispute resolution experience. Her major business emphasis is on finance where she accumulated experience from several prestigious financial services organizations in the US as a financial advisor.

Besides the active financial advisory and insurance licenses Alia holds (Series 7, Series66 and Life), Alia possesses two graduate degrees in Business Administration and Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University, a Certificate in Global Enterprise Management from the University of Oxford, and some Public and Private International Dispute Resolution education from Geneva and London respectively.

While getting trained at Los Angeles Superior Court, Alia was able to dismiss 90% of the cases she mediated. While Alia’s focus is on mediation, Alia is currently approved as a registered Arbitrator with FINRA Dispute Resolution Services.

In her early career years (2000-2002), Alia successfully managed an environmental health project and tripled the project returns in less than a year, earning a prestigious “Employee of the Year Award” for 2002. Alia’s career background includes financial advisory experience at four reputable US financial advisory institutions: American Express, TD Waterhouse, Ameriprise Financial and Edward Jones.

On different occasions and along with advanced ADR experts, Alia conducted speaking engagements at professional organizations such as the United Nations Head Quarter in New York and the American Bar Association conference in Washington DC.

With an extensive financial advisory background and solid relationship-building skills, Alia aims to promote mediation as an effective dispute resolution method between companies and within organizations. With her speaking engagement skills and proactive nature, she always aims to conduct extensive marketing activity to stir businesses and lawyers away from traditional methods to resolving disputes.
