Ayesha Jamal
Ayesha Jamal is a distinguished legal professional with over 10 years of experience at the Bar, having specialization in Infrastructure and Technology Laws, Business Laws, Regulatory Compliances, Transaction Advisory and Global Intellectual Property Rights. Currently, Ayesha serves as the sole Legal Expert at the National Highways Logistics Management Ltd., National Highways Authority of India, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India since 2022 through her law firm, Networks Legal (LLP). She has been the sole Legal Advisor to the Transaction Advisory team/s for various state infrastructure projects including the Pune Metro Rail (Lines 4 & 5) of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) in the State of Maharashtra, India.
On the private side, Ayesha simultaneously serves as the Legal Advisor, PAN Intellecom Limited, a company engaged in works of system integration and soft infrastructure, having most recently, successfully completed the system integration works in India’s new Parliament building. Ayesha’s skills set include drafting and negotiation of Civil and Commercial contracts, complex Infrastructure and Concession Agreements, Employment Agreements, Notice Inviting Tenders, Mediation and Settlement Agreements.
She is proficient in Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms, particularly Mediation, and has successfully mediated many disputes at Samadhan, Delhi State’s
Mediation centre at the High Court of Delhi (New Delhi), India. Ayesha holds an international accreditation as a Civil/ Commercial Mediator from ADR-ODR International
(U.K.), recognized by the UK Civil Mediation Council (CMC).
Ayesha has had the privilege to co- conduct trainings for contract negotiation, risk assessment and mitigation, and Mediation through her firm, Training for Excellence in
Arbitration & Mediation (TeAM) for officials of bodies such as the Real Estate Regulatory Authority of various states of India, and General Counsels of various companies. She has, on two occasions, co- trained Functional Directors of various Central and State Public Sector Enterprises of the Government of India on the role of Mediation in the public sector.
Armed with a Master’s degree in Law & Technology from the University of California at Berkeley, USA, Ayesha has been the recipient of UC Berkeley's prestigious Henry W. & Nettie Robinson Fellowship (2021). True to her intellectual pursuits, Ayesha occasionally trains supporting officers and staff members of the Parliament on India on the emerging aspect of the interface of Law & Technology and its corresponding impact on the evolution of the Indian legal system.
Ayesha was recently interviewed by Sabeer Bhatia, the founder of Hotmail.com, on Artificial Intelligence and its potential impact on the Indian judicial system (Interview aired nationwide on DD National TV- June 21, 2024). She regularly represents different departments of the Government of Delhi and the Central Government (such as National Fertilizers Limited) before various High Courts in India.
