Christine Maksoud

Christine is a Lebanese qualified lawyer and a solicitor of England & Wales with 14 years of PQE. She has been practicing in the UAE since 2016. She is a senior lawyer at Al Tamimi & Company leading the mediation practice, an IMI accredited mediator, a Weinstein JAMS Fellow and a mediation trainer. Her passion for mediation led her to establish the Mediation Hub MENA, where she serves as the Founder Member and Executive Director.

Christine is included on the roster of mediators of the World Bank Group’s Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO). She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is listed as a mediator on Mediation Chambers.  

She has expertise in resolving disputes as party representative and a mediator through alternative methods such as mediation, conciliation and settlement counselling. She provides advisory on UAE law, pre-litigation guidance, and managing intricate and sensitive commercial and civil disputes, particularly family business disputes and shareholders disputes.

Christine obtained a Diploma in Professional Mediation from the Professional Mediation Center (CPM) of Saint-Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon in 2010. She also completed the ADR Center International Mediator Training Program in Dubai in partnership with the Legal Affairs Department, the mediation training “Mediating the Litigated Case” at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine Caruso School of Law in Malibu, and the International Training Program for promoting mediation, a joint initiative by the Centre for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution at UC Law, San Francisco and JAMS. She also completed several negotiation courses, which is a key skill in the mediation process, including the Negotiation and Leadership Course at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School in Boston.

She delivers mediation training courses and teaches peer mediation programs. She also volunteers in pro-bono mediation programs.

Christine authored several articles and publications on mediation including the Mediation Guide to MENA, published by Al Tamimi & Company.
