Dr Bassel is an accredited civil and commercial mediator certified by the Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI) and a respected independent ADR professional, specializing in commercial and corporate disputes. He is a passionate advocate of mediation as a means for resolving complex disputes outside of court.

With over 25 years of executive leadership experience, Dr Bassel has held CEO, Board, and senior advisory roles across the private and public sectors, as well as international organizations and regulatory bodies. He is a valued board member and senior advisor to leading global consulting firms, where he advises on management consulting, policy design and reform, business strategy, M&A, governance, and business transformation for clients in the public sector, regulatory bodies, and private corporations. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr Bassel has served on the boards of various organizations in industries such as academia, financial services, insurance, healthcare, media, and real estate. Notably, he has served as Chairman and CEO of the DIFC (re)Insurance Association, Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of AlManara Insurance, where he spearheaded critical organizational restructuring efforts, and was instrumental in establishing and leading the insurance regulatory authority in Jordan.

His career also includes working at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, DC, and serving as a senior government official and advisor during Jordan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Dr Bassel holds a Ph.D. in International Business and Information Management from George Washington University and has completed the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Program. He is the recipient of the prestigious International Insurance Society (IIS) General Award and has been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow by the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS).
