Dr. Sherif Elnegahy

Hon. Dr. Elnegahy is an international mediator/ombuds, consultant, law professor, author and a senior Judiciary.

Elnegahy as an international commercial mediator; has acted as a mediator, co-mediator and shadowed more than 500 cases at the following institutions: Cairo Economic Court (Egypt), Glasgow Sheriff Court (Scotland, U.K.), Los Angeles Superior Court ADR Department (Los Angeles, CA), Santa Monica Superior Court (Los Angeles, CA), American Arbitration Association (AAA) (Los Angeles, CA), and at JAMS offices in California and New York. Alongside with number of Ad hoc mediations with high profile cases involving reputable Arab and international parties. 

Elnegahy as an international ombudsman; mediating workplace and labor disputes for international organizations; as mediator/dispute resolution specialist for Food and Agriculture Organization FAO of the United Nations and Mediator of the Global Mediation Panel of the Office of the Ombudsman for UN Funds and Programmes. 

Elnegahy has also mediated and successfully settled number of community disputes (mainly revenge killings cases) in Egypt with a company-community large dispute in the country side between major oil and gas company and a village of farmers over the right and location of mining. 

Elnegahy as an international consultant has acted as a lead consultant; for different UN agencies such as UN Women and UNICEF, for major companies such as ELM.sa and Strategic Gears Consultancy and for governments namely The Saudi and Egyptian Ministries of Justice.    

Elnegahy as a law professor has designed and delivering the mediation and negotiation course for the LLB students of the British Uni of Egypt Law school together with managing the international mediation students writing competition in Egypt with nine law schools involved.   Also, he has trained judges from Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other countries, regarding how to use mediation in the court system. He has taught and presented on mediation, law and justice in many countries, including: the U.S., U.K., Germany, Spain, Italy, Dubai and Saudi Arabia.

Elnegahy enjoys a strong legal back ground with more than seventeen years of experience with the formal justice system as a lawyer, public prosecutor, prosecutor manager, judge, a Chief Judge at Cairo Economic Court.  

Elnegahy, holds a Ph.D. in mediation from Strathclyde University, United Kingdom. LLM in law and dispute resolution from Pepperdine University, USA. And his LLB from Ain Shams Uni Egypt.  He the recipient of the prestigious Fulbright and Chevening Scholarships and is a Weinstein JAMS International and Rotary Peace Fellow.
