Johanna Hawari Bourjeily
Johanna Hawari Bourjeily is a lawyer, mediator, trainer. She is the Founder and Director of the Centre Professionnel de Médiation (CPM) at Saint-Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon since 2006, Johanna specialized in mediation and relational communication, after studying law and criminology and practicing as a criminal lawyer at the Paris Court of Appeal. She also founded the association Médiateurs Sans Frontières Liban in 2005, whose mission is to train and promote intercultural mediation. She is a member of several international organizations, including the Association des Ombudsmans de la Méditerranée, the Mediterranean Women Mediators Network, the Association des Médiateurs Européens (AME) and the Conseil Scientifique du Centre de Médiation et d'Arbitrage de la Chambre de Commerce Franco-Arabe de Paris. Johanna is a mediation expert for international institutions such as UNDP, UN-Women, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF). She is a trainer in mediation, relational communication and development and leadership at universities in Lebanon, France and the Arab world, and with associations, companies, municipalities and hospitals in a variety of fields. She is a mediator in international, commercial, family, intercultural and social mediation and works with the CPM, AME, CMFM (Centre de Médiation et de Formation à la Médiation à Paris) and the French Ministry of Justice. She is also a consultant for setting up mediation structures for private and public institutions in Lebanon and France. Since March 2024, Johanna has also been a member of the AUF Mediation and Conflict Management Commission.
