Muiris Lyons

Muiris Lyons is a mediator and UK qualified solicitor specializing international sports law disputes and medical law. Formerly a senior partner with leading City law firm Stewarts and with over 30 years experience as a disputes lawyer and litigator, Muiris is now a mediator specializing in resolving disputes with expertise and integrity through his own business Muiris Lyons Legal (muirislyonslegal.com).

Muiris trained with CEDR at ADGM in Abu Dhabi and is accredited by them and has been appointed to their panel of approved mediators. He is registered with and regulated by the Civil Mediation Council. He is also a member of both the Sport Resolutions panel of mediators and arbitrators and their Pro Bono Counsel panel. He is a MCIArb and a FIFA licensed football agent(non-practicing).

Muiris has an LL.M in Litigation and Dispute Resolution and is currently completing his Global Master in Sports Law at ISDE, Madrid.

Muiris has significant mediation experience as a lawyer which he now brings to his role as mediator ensuring wherever possible all parties work collaboratively and creatively to reach a settlement.

He has a wide network of contacts throughout the UAE and enjoys spending time there for both work and his personal life.

He is a Past President and Senior Fellow of APIL and has appeared widely on TV and in the media. He has worked closely with UK Ministers and civil servants and been actively involved in civil justice reform including ADR. He was the General Editor of JPIL for 10 years and has written and lectured extensively.
