Sahar El Faijah

Sahar is a mediator who leads sessions across civil, commercial, workplace and community matters. Registered with the Civil Mediation Council (UK), she is based in London but works internationally and remotely. Sahar is part of several organizations and networks, including The Barrister Group (UK), Total Conflict Management group (UK), and The Religious and Traditional Peacemakers (United Nations Peacemaker Network).

Sahar genuinely believes in the transformative power of alternative dispute resolution. While initially aspired to become a solicitor, her interest in mediation aroused during her bachelor programme and redirected her career path. Her BSc in Liberal Arts and Sciences at University College Groningen (UCG, NL) combined social sciences and humanities modules, with a focus on law and psychology, giving her a solid foundation for mediation. After graduating, she followed her accredited training at London School of Mediation (LSM, UK) and was tutored by widely recognized mediators. Sahar then obtained a master's degree in global creative and cultural industries at SOAS (UK), specializing in the field and gaining expertise in intellectual property. Combining her qualifications with her personal aspirations, she dedicates to community mediation, particularly addressing (inter)religious and cultural concerns.

As a mediator, Sahar draws inspiration from her unique background. Her base in law and psychology allows her to be structured yet flexible, adopting a grounded and resilient mediation style. To build sustainable peace amongst participants, she promotes a safe place which inspires collaboration and mutual responsibility. Moreover, her creative spirit stimulates innovative approaches to problem-solving, fostering openness. Sahar is an excellent communicator who envisions mediation as an opportunity for change, both on an individual and a global level, paving the way for social harmony.

Being of mixed heritage and having lived in several countries, Sahar has an open mind. Fluent in English and French, with advanced command in Spanish and elementary proficiency in Arabic, Sahar accompanies clients from many different regions. She is mindful of cultural differences and strives for inclusivity in her practice, providing tailored services to her clients.
