Sophie Tkemaladze

Sophie Tkemaladze is an independent mediator, arbitrator, trainer, consultant advising international organizations (UNDP, USAID, CoE, GIZ, ADB) as well as public and private companies on dispute resolution system and policy.

Sophie designed the first court-annexed mediation Pilot in Georgia in 2012, was key expert drafting the Law of Georgia on Mediation in 2019 and was part of the Government of Georgia delegation to the Singapore Convention Signing Ceremony. Sophie has also advised on commercial mediation pilot in Sri – Lanka, on development of mediation and arbitration in Iraq and has trained over 300 judges, lawyers, and mediators in Europe, South-East Asia and Middle East.

Sophie’s mediation experience includes mediating commercial and workplace disputes in the US and in Georgia as well as facilitating disputes on IFI funded projects between the implementing agencies and the affected communities as a consultant to the Asian Development Bank’s Office of the Special Project Facilitator.

Sophie is Assistant Professor at New Vision University, is approved faculty of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, since 2022 is member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR and since July 2024 is Court Member of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC.

Sophie holds master's in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, LL.M. in International Business Law from Central European University (Budapest, Hungary) and a Diploma in Law from Tbilisi State University.
